Project Associate – Community Outreach

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Associate to support its Community Outreach activities within the Protection Unit in Ethiopia. Working under the Programme Officer (Protection) and the National Officer (Protection), the Associate will help implement non-emergency protection projects that promote safe migration and empower local communities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and facilitating community outreach campaigns, including community dialogues, roadshows, focus-group discussions and information sessions on safe migration.
• Support the organization of community conversations that encourage reporting of human trafficking and promote behavioural change.
• Coordinate with local leaders, NGOs and government partners to ensure outreach activities align with IOM’s protection objectives.
• Contribute to the preparation of reports, monitoring tools and documentation related to outreach events.
• Provide logistical support for field activities, including venue arrangements and material distribution.

Required profile

• Experience in community outreach, public engagement or similar field-based activities.
• Familiarity with migration, protection or humanitarian contexts is desirable.
• Ability to work under supervision of senior protection staff and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
