Senior Financial Analyst – Venture Capital

About the role

Renew Capital is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support the evaluation, execution, and scaling of high‑potential ventures across Africa. The role sits at the heart of the investment process, partnering with investment managers, portfolio company CFOs, and senior leadership to turn data into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain robust financial models for pipeline and prospective investments, analyzing historical data, forecasts, and risk/return metrics.
• Conduct market sizing, competitive analysis, and primary/secondary research to underpin investment theses.
• Support financial and commercial due‑diligence from initial screening through investment‑committee review.
• Work directly with portfolio finance teams on budgeting, 13‑week rolling cash‑flow forecasts, and financial controls.
• Monitor portfolio performance, calculate key ratios, and flag emerging risks or opportunities.
• Translate complex analysis into clear, decision‑ready presentations, memos, and dashboards for investment committees and leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business or related field; MBA or Master’s in Finance preferred.
• 6‑8+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, investment analysis, private equity, venture capital, investment banking or corporate finance, with exposure to growth‑stage companies.
• Advanced financial‑modeling expertise, including integrated three‑statement models, valuation, scenario and sensitivity analysis, and capital structuring.
• Proven experience supporting or leading financial and commercial due‑diligence processes.
