Business Development Specialist

About the role

IMO-Ethiopia is looking for a Business Development Specialist based in Addis Ababa. The role focuses on finding and developing business partners, local agencies and strategic cooperation opportunities in Ethiopia, and building the partnerships that support the company's growth in the Ethiopian market.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop potential business partners, local agencies and strategic cooperation opportunities in Ethiopia.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with local partners, key stakeholders and business contacts.
• Explore new business opportunities and develop partnerships to support company growth in the Ethiopian market.
• Negotiate cooperation terms, coordinate contract execution and follow up on partnership performance.
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and potential risks.
• Work closely with internal teams to drive partnership initiatives and ensure successful implementation.
• Track business development progress and report regularly on market opportunities and partnership performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Business Administration, Marketing, International Business or a related field.
• Previous experience in business development, sales, partnerships or account management is preferred.
• Strong understanding of the Ethiopian business environment and local market.
• Fluent in Amharic and English; knowledge of additional local languages is a plus.
• Self-motivated, proactive and results-oriented, with strong execution skills.
