Financial Accountant – Addis Ababa

About the role

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our finance team in Addis Ababa. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will ensure accurate financial records, compliance with tax regulations and support effective financial management.

Key responsibilities

• Review payment requests and verify supporting documents
• Ensure budget availability before processing payments
• Record accrued expenses accurately
• Prepare cash and bank payment vouchers, including cheques
• Deduct withholding tax in compliance with tax regulations
• Process payments upon proper authorization
• Collect official receipts with valid TIN numbers
• Analyze financial transactions, code and update the general ledger
• Reconcile and settle purchase and per‑diem advance accounts
• Stamp all paid invoices and receipts and maintain proper filing for audit
• Prepare daily cash‑flow reports and cash closing
• Perform other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance or related field
• Minimum 1 year of experience in financial accounting, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger and financial reporting
• Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements
• Experience in financial analysis, reconciliations and budgeting processes
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); Amharic or other local languages an advantage
