Nutrition Consultant – Office-based with travel

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Nutrition Consultant to support its nutrition programmes in Ethiopia. The role combines office‑based work in Addis Ababa with field travel to implement and monitor nutrition interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor nutrition programmes.
• Support resource mobilisation and strengthen nutrition information and reporting systems.
• Provide technical assistance for nutrition assessments, surveys, formative research and operational learning studies.
• Contribute to emergency preparedness and humanitarian nutrition actions.
• Strengthen capacity, coordination and partnerships across sectors.
• Promote nutrition systems strengthening, sustainability and scale‑up.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in Nutrition, Public Health, Nutritional Epidemiology, Global Health, or related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in a developing country in nutrition, public health, nutrition planning and management, or maternal‑infant‑child health.
• Experience with advocacy, strategic engagement, and multi‑sector nutrition programming is an asset.
• Excellent communication, report writing and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with emergency operations.
• Fluency in English and Amharic.
