Midwifery Nurse – Mobile Health & Nutrition (MHN)

About the role

The Mobile Health and Nutrition (MHN) Midwifery Nurse will lead the technical quality and delivery of community‑based health services in the assigned Woreda. Working under the Public Health Officer, the nurse will ensure daily implementation of antenatal care, family planning, immunisation, health education and safe motherhood activities according to Save the Children and Ministry of Health guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate mobile health and nutrition activities, including site selection and weekly movement planning.
• Provide community ANC, family planning, IMNCI/ICCM, safe motherhood, emergency referral and EPI services.
• Manage essential drug, supply and therapeutic product logistics for the mobile team and partner health facilities.
• Organise daily, weekly and monthly reporting on ANC, FP, EPI, health education and consultations.
• Ensure referral linkages between community services and health facilities.
• Deliver onsite training and mentorship to Health Extension Workers (HEWs) and nurses.
• Maintain job aids, documentation of pregnant women, counselling records and vaccination registers.
• Cross‑check weekly HEW reports and submit accurate data to Woreda project officers.

Required profile

• Qualified midwife or nurse with experience in community health delivery.
• Familiarity with Ethiopian Ministry of Health mobile health and nutrition guidelines.
• Ability to manage drug supplies, documentation and reporting.
• Level 3 child safeguarding clearance.
