Clinical Nurse – OTP/SC Program (Health & Nutrition)

About the role

The Clinical Nurse will lead the technical quality implementation of the Outpatient Therapeutic Programme (OTP) and Stabilisation Centre (SC) within the Health & Nutrition Program in the Mustahil, Kelafo and Fer‑Fer Woredas of the Shebelle Zone. Working closely with the Woreda Health Office, the role focuses on community‑based management of acute malnutrition and preventive health services.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor OTP and SC activities to meet program objectives.
• Facilitate admission, clinical care and nutritional support for children, ensuring availability of supplies such as Plumpy’nut, Vitamin A and routine drugs.
• Provide on‑the‑job training for Health Extension Workers and supervise Community Health Volunteers.
• Strengthen linkages between community health structures and the Woreda Health Bureau, including early referral mechanisms.
• Conduct primary health care consultations and deliver treatment according to national protocols.
• Promote awareness on nutrition and preventive health care within the community.

Required profile

• Qualified nurse with experience in community health and nutrition programs.
• Familiarity with national guidelines for severe acute malnutrition management.
• Ability to train and supervise health workers and volunteers.
• Strong coordination skills with government health offices.
