Data Quality Audit Consultant – Addis Ababa & Hawassa

About the role

The Routine Data Quality Audit (RDQA) Consultant will work with Tiko Africa to assess and improve the quality of health data reported by facilities in Addis Ababa and Hawassa. The consultant will lead systematic on‑site audits, analyse discrepancies, and support facilities in implementing corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with local government authorities and Tiko staff to organise joint on‑site RDQA activities.
• Conduct full RDQA processes: extract data, tally records, and compare Tiko platform reports with primary source registers (HMIS).
• Document observations, capacity gaps, and contextual factors affecting data quality.
• Perform root‑cause analysis of variances and develop action plans with facility teams.
• Prepare and submit raw and cleaned datasets, Comparative Checks Report, and follow‑up on corrective actions.
• Support quarterly Facility Data Review Sessions, presenting performance trends and linking findings to Facility Improvement Plans.

Required profile

• Proven experience conducting health data quality audits or similar assessments.
• Familiarity with Ethiopian health information systems (HMIS) and data reporting platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and capacity building.
