About the role

The Director of Finance & Accounts will lead the financial function of Yegna Microfinance Institution, ensuring robust accounting, reporting, and strategic financial management. This senior position reports directly to senior management and plays a key role in supporting the institution’s growth and compliance objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including ledger maintenance, month‑end close, and financial statement preparation.
• Develop, monitor, and control the annual budget and forecasting processes.
• Ensure compliance with banking and micro‑finance regulations, internal policies, and external audit requirements.
• Lead a team of finance professionals, providing coaching, performance management, and professional development.
• Prepare and present financial analysis and performance reports to senior leadership and the board.
• Manage cash flow, treasury activities, and funding arrangements.
• Identify financial risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• MA or BA degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Business Administration or related fields.
• 5–7 years of relevant banking or micro‑finance experience.
• At least 3 years in a senior or managerial finance position.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and best practices in the micro‑finance sector.
