Health and Nutrition Coordinator

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting the implementation of World Vision Ethiopia’s health and nutrition programme in targeted woredas of the Amhara Region. The role works closely with field teams, government health offices, partners and other stakeholders to ensure quality, coordinated and responsive programme delivery, including emergency response.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise health and nutrition activities such as CMAM/IMAM, IYCF, IMNCI, ANC/PNC and emergency interventions.
• Develop and update implementation plans, procurement and supply plans, and monitoring tools in collaboration with MEAL and supply‑chain teams.
• Conduct regular field visits, supportive supervision and rapid assessments to identify gaps and provide technical guidance.
• Coordinate with government, clusters, NGOs and UN agencies to align activities, avoid duplication and ensure timely delivery of supplies.
• Prepare procurement requests, monitor stock of medicines and nutrition commodities and ensure accurate reporting and donor documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum five years’ experience with NGOs delivering emergency health and nutrition programmes.
• Master’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition or Clinical Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Relevant certifications such as IMNCI, IMAM, family MUAC, SPHERE standards and training on outbreak management.

Required skills

• CMAM/IMAM programme planning, implementation and monitoring.
• IYCF, IMNCI and ANC/PNC service delivery.
• Family MUAC approach and rapid nutrition assessments.
• Outbreak disease management (e.g., cholera, measles, malaria).
• Procurement planning, supply‑chain coordination and data analysis for reporting.
