Junior Software Engineer – Technical Operations Associate

About the role

Hirearky is looking for an entry‑level Junior Software Engineer / Technical Operations Associate to join its office in Bole, Addis Ababa. You will work hands‑on with CRM systems, database management, integrations, email‑marketing tools and internal technology projects while supporting U.S. business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and update CRM databases.
• Maintain CRM workflows and automations.
• Support integrations between CRM platforms, email‑marketing tools and internal systems.
• Assist with email‑marketing setup, testing and troubleshooting.
• Perform data cleanup, reporting and technical documentation.
• Support internal software, operations and recruiting‑technology projects.
• Handle ad‑hoc technical and business tasks.
• Learn new systems and tools as the company expands.

Required profile

• 0–2 years of software engineering, IT or related technical experience.
• Degree or coursework in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field (preferred).
• Strong English communication skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable, consistent schedule and willingness to work 6 AM–4 PM Eastern Time from Ethiopia.
• Enthusiasm for learning new tools quickly.

Required skills

• Basic programming knowledge in any language.
• Understanding of databases, spreadsheets or CRM systems.
• Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce).
• Familiarity with email‑marketing tools.
• Basic API or integration knowledge.
• Experience with Google Sheets, Airtable, Zapier, Make or similar automation tools.
