Principal Network Engineer

About the role

The Principal Network Engineer will lead the design, implementation and management of secure, high‑performance network systems that support Gadaa Bank’s operations in Addis Ababa. This full‑time, on‑site position requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams to ensure the network aligns with the bank’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage scalable network architectures.
• Configure, maintain and upgrade network devices such as routers, switches and firewalls.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues and resolve network incidents promptly.
• Ensure robust network security to protect infrastructure and data.
• Monitor and optimize network performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with IT, security and business teams to develop network strategies.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in network design and engineering.
• Strong background in network administration and troubleshooting.
• Deep knowledge of network security best practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE are a strong advantage.
• Experience in the banking or financial sector is preferred.
