Technical Lead – Faith and Development

About the role

The Faith and Development Technical Lead provides sector‑specific technical leadership, thought leadership, donor engagement and resource acquisition to position World Vision Ethiopia as a partner of choice for high‑impact programming.

Key responsibilities

• Lead donor engagement and drive resource mobilisation, contributing a measurable proportion of funding to the national portfolio.
• Develop and steward donor relationships, lead proposal design and integrate cross‑cutting themes such as gender, conflict sensitivity and safeguarding.
• Provide strategic technical guidance, ensure evidence‑based program design and represent WVE in national and global technical platforms.
• Mentor and build capacity of local institutions, NGOs and project staff through coaching, field visits and training.
• Collaborate with MEAL teams to define sector indicators, monitor performance and document lessons learned.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Intercultural/Development Studies, Social Sciences or related field (Bachelor’s with extensive experience may be considered).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in technical leadership within international development or humanitarian contexts.
• Proven track record in resource mobilisation, donor engagement and leading large competitive proposals.
• Strong leadership, people‑management and communication skills, with ability to motivate diverse teams.
• Fluency in English and Amharic; ability to travel frequently to field sites.
