Field Coordinator

About the role

The Field Coordinator will lead the implementation of the END FUND‑financed trachomatous trichiasis (TT) backlog clearance across multiple woredas in South West Ethiopia. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role also supports broader Trachoma SAFE strategy activities in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Project Manager, zonal health departments and woreda health offices to meet project targets on schedule.
• Develop and execute woreda‑based TT surgery plans, ensuring high‑volume, quality surgical delivery.
• Mobilize and supervise trained Integrated Eye Care Workers (IECWs) for outreach and static TT surgery sessions.
• Conduct supportive supervision, quality‑assurance checks, and case‑finding activities to identify all TT cases.
• Organise review meetings with health authorities, partners and community volunteers.
• Provide training for IECWs, health extension workers, community volunteers and other stakeholders.
• Prepare quarterly case studies, annual/quarterly/monthly work plans, and regular progress reports for the Project Manager.
• Participate in mid‑term and final evaluations and develop transition documents to integrate TT services into the existing health system.

• Coordinates closely with zonal health departments and woreda health offices.
• Engages with partners, volunteers and community members to build trust and collaboration.
