Financial Accountant

About the role

Puratos is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its Addis Ababa finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will ensure accurate financial records, compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, and support effective financial management.

Key responsibilities

• Review payment requests, verify supporting documents and ensure budget availability.
• Record accrued expenses, prepare cash and bank payment vouchers, and deduct withholding tax.
• Process authorized payments and collect official receipts with valid TIN numbers.
• Analyze transactions, code entries, and update the general ledger.
• Reconcile purchase and per‑diem advance accounts, stamp paid invoices, and maintain audit‑ready filing.
• Prepare daily cash‑flow reports and perform cash closing.
• Support other finance tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in financial accounting, accounts payable/receivable, or general ledger functions.
• Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience with financial analysis, reconciliations and budgeting processes.
• Strong communication skills in English; Amharic or other local languages are a plus.
