Health Manager – Immunization, Systems & Emergencies

About the role

UNICEF Ethiopia is seeking a highly qualified health professional to support equitable and resilient health services for women and children. Reporting to the Chief of Health, the Health Manager provides strategic leadership and technical oversight for planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of programmes focused on immunization, primary health care, health‑system strengthening and emergency preparedness.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and plan health programmes, including immunization and primary health care.
• Manage programme implementation, monitor results and ensure delivery of targets.
• Provide advisory and technical support to partners and government counterparts.
• Advocate, network and build partnerships to strengthen health outcomes.
• Drive innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in public health, global health, health policy, vaccinology or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in public‑health programme planning and management, with expertise in health‑system strengthening, immunization or health emergencies.
• Strong expertise in primary health care, routine immunization, disease‑outbreak response and programme evaluation.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
