Merchandiser – Outdoor Apparel Manufacturer

About the role

The Merchandiser will manage the complete merchandising cycle for an export‑oriented outdoor garment manufacturer. Based in Addis Ababa, the role involves close interaction with international buyers, internal production teams and logistics partners to ensure orders are executed on time, within budget and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate daily with international buyers to capture requirements, negotiate terms and provide order updates.
• Prepare, review and validate costings, pricing proposals and sampling specifications.
• Monitor order status across production, quality and logistics, ensuring delivery timelines and compliance are met.
• Coordinate sampling, bulk production and shipment planning in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Resolve any technical or quality issues proactively to maintain customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Strong communication and customer‑service skills for dealing with global brands.
• Knowledge of retail and marketing trends in outdoor and technical apparel.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional manufacturing teams and understand basic garment production processes.
• Solid organizational, planning and time‑management abilities with attention to detail.
• Relevant experience in garment merchandising or apparel sourcing, preferably with technical products.
• Diploma or degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Merchandising, Business or related field.
