Business Development Manager – Steel Sector (Ethiopia)

About the role

Drive business development across Ethiopia, identifying lucrative opportunities in the steel sector, focusing on HRC, CRC, GI, PPGI and related products.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full sales cycle—from prospecting and technical consultation through contract negotiation, closing, and long‑term account management.
• Analyze Ethiopian market dynamics, import regulations, competitor positioning, and regional demand patterns to develop localized sales strategies.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance) to navigate customs processes and ensure seamless order fulfillment.
• Cultivate strategic partnerships with existing clients while aggressively expanding market share to exceed ambitious sales targets.
• Represent the company at major Ethiopian trade events and industry associations to enhance brand visibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of steel international trading experience with a proven track record in import/export operations.
• Exceptional negotiation abilities, strong commercial acumen, and an established network within the Ethiopian steel industry.
• Self‑starter with resilience to work independently; comfortable with frequent travel and occasional regional trips.
