Midwifery Nurse – Mobile Health & Nutrition (MHN)

About the role

The Mobile Health and Nutrition (MHN) Midwifery Nurse will lead the technical quality, implementation and delivery of mobile health and nutrition services in the assigned Woreda. The role focuses on community‑based antenatal care, family planning, immunisation, health education and safe motherhood activities in line with Amhara Regional Health Bureau guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate daily mobile health and nutrition activities, including site selection and weekly movement planning.
• Provide community‑based ANC, family planning, IMNCI/ICCM, EPI, safe‑motherhood and emergency referral services.
• Manage essential drug, supply and therapeutic product logistics for the mobile team and partner health facilities.
• Organise and submit weekly and monthly reports on ANC, FP, EPI, health education and consultations.
• Ensure referral linkages between mobile services and health facilities and adherence to medical and nutritional protocols.
• Deliver on‑site training and mentorship to Health Extension Workers (HEWs) and nurses, and ensure availability of job aids and reporting tools.
• Document pregnant mothers, child‑bearing age individuals, vaccinated children and other service beneficiaries accurately.

Required profile

• National posting with Grade 4B level.
• Child safeguarding Level 3 – regular contact with children or young people.
• Experience in mobile health, nutrition, or community health service delivery.
• Ability to work under the supervision of the Public Health Officer and collaborate with nutrition and health teams.
