Operations Support Consultant – Ethiopia

About the role

Last Mile Health is seeking an Operations Support Consultant to strengthen the day‑to‑day functioning of its Ethiopia program. Reporting to the Finance and Operations Director, you will ensure staff travel is safe, offices are equipped, vendors are managed, and operational systems run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end international and domestic travel logistics, including flights, accommodation, ground transport, visa applications and related documentation.
• Plan and execute logistics for training events, conferences, workshops and retreats (venue sourcing, catering, equipment rentals, participant travel).
• Process import/export paperwork such as invoices, packing lists and bills of lading, ensuring compliance with organizational, local and donor regulations.
• Identify, evaluate and select vendors for office supplies, IT equipment and professional services, maintaining a preferred‑vendor database.
• Negotiate rates with hotels, airlines and service providers to achieve value for money while maintaining quality.
• Monitor supplier performance on quality, timeliness and cost‑effectiveness, and keep detailed transaction records.

Required profile

• Located in Ethiopia with valid work authorization.
• Experience coordinating logistics, procurement and vendor management in fast‑paced environments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work across operations, finance and program teams.

What we offer

• Consultancy contract from September 2026 to June 2027.
• Up to 35 hours per week, based in Addis Ababa.
• Monthly consultancy fee of $1,300 USD.
