Senior Human Resources Manager

About the role

The Senior Human Resources Manager is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The role leads end‑to‑end HR operations, ensuring effective talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, employee development, and compliance with Ethiopian labour law.

Key responsibilities

• Collect attendance data from machines, encode overtime, and verify correct upload to payroll systems.
• Prepare payroll for permanent, daily, piece‑rate, contract and outsourced production workers.
• Answer employee queries on leave balances, medical benefits, taxes, insurance deductions and other compensation & benefits matters.
• Oversee attendance across all work units, generate monthly and annual leave balance reports, and follow up on accrued leave.
• Monitor absenteeism, issue legal notices or termination letters for repeated lateness or absences.
• Design, implement and update HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
• Partner with senior leadership on workforce planning, employee relations, compensation, benefits and retention initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 4‑5 years of HR experience, with at least two years in a senior or equivalent role.
• Strong background in compensation & benefits, talent acquisition, performance management and employee relations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• In‑depth knowledge of Ethiopian labour law and employment standards.
