Senior Recruitment and Selection Officer

About the role

Elmi Olindo Contractors seeks an experienced Senior Recruitment and Selection Officer to lead the hiring process for construction projects and the head office. The role ensures timely recruitment and deployment of qualified staff across all functions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with project managers and department heads to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment plans.
• Publish vacancy announcements on LinkedIn, AfriWork, job portals, universities and professional networks.
• Source, screen, interview and assess candidates for technical, professional, administrative and skilled/unskilled positions.
• Organise written exams, technical interviews, practical tests and other selection activities.
• Manage the full recruitment cycle including reference checks, qualification verification, salary negotiations and offer letters.
• Maintain recruitment databases, candidate pools, interview records and recruitment performance reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of recruitment experience, preferably in construction or large project‑based organisations.
• Proven ability to handle high‑volume and urgent staffing requirements.
• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
