Agronomy Advisor – Coffee Program

About the role

The Agronomy Advisor will support TechnoServe’s coffee agronomy program, helping smallholder farmers improve coffee quality and yields through training, field visits, and data‑driven monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and manage Farmer Trainers, submit weekly work plans and provide feedback.
• Conduct monthly agronomy training for Farmer Trainers at demonstration plots and supervise teach‑backs.
• Observe Farmer Trainers delivering training, complete observation forms and coach for improvement.
• Visit farmers and demo plots to monitor adoption, collect data via digital tablets and provide feedback.
• Monitor attendance, compile weekly reports and support impact reporting.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships with local agricultural offices, Kebele leaders and community members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agriculture or equivalent experience.
• At least four years of professional experience in coffee agronomy, preferably in the private sector.
• Strong planning, interpersonal and cross‑cultural communication skills.
• Willingness to live in rural areas and ride a motorcycle (valid license required).
• Fluent in English and Oromifa; computer literate.
