Field Production Supervisor (Ethiopia)

About the role

The Field Production Supervisor will build and manage a network of growers to produce commercial seed hybrids in Ethiopia. The role ensures seed production targets are met while complying with Bayer policies, local regulations and human‑rights standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct annual grower evaluations and retain high‑performing, compliant growers.
• Allocate surface areas according to the country crop plan and assign growers accordingly.
• Source, recruit and develop new growers to meet long‑range crop plans.
• Manage grower accounts in SAP and oversee all related processes.
• Supervise land preparation, planting, crop development, detasseling, harvest and post‑harvest activities to achieve quality and yield goals.
• Handle disputes with growers and contribute to production performance reviews.
• Ensure compliance with Bayer’s human‑rights, ESH policies and local seed‑production regulations.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Agriculture.
• Minimum 5 years experience in seed production management.
• Strong conceptual, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent planning, organization and collaboration skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to work at remote production sites.
