CAT A Technician - Ethiopia Recruitment Event

About the role

Air Arabia is recruiting a CAT A technician through its invitation-only Engineering Recruitment Event in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in mid-November 2026. Candidates should apply only if they can attend the event, which is open to shortlisted candidates only; full event details will be shared with them before the event. The technician carries out line maintenance on Air Arabia and third-party aircraft within the scope of CAR 66 Category A1 authorisation, including inspections, repairs and component replacement.

Key responsibilities

• Review assigned tasks with the Maintenance Manager before starting work, covering priorities, documentation and cautions.
• Prepare and perform scheduled aircraft maintenance, obtaining the required documentation, parts, tools and ground support equipment.
• Carry out scheduled test and inspection tasks to identify and record defects or damage in line with approved procedures.
• Perform routine servicing, transit, daily and weekly checks, component replacement and test tasks within the scope of the Technician's CAT 1 licence.
• Draw tooling and equipment from stores and return it in good condition.
• Report task status regularly to the In-Charge and alert them to aircraft condition or work issues.
• Manage safety, follow mandatory precautions, use protective equipment and respect human factors such as work interruption procedures and adequate lighting.
• Support the team and other departments involved in scheduled maintenance checks, and present a professional image to other companies' personnel and customers.
• Be aware of maintenance costs and minimise waste of consumables and part repair costs.

Required profile

• Qualified and experienced civil aircraft maintenance technician.
• For external applicants: at least 2 years of maintenance experience on large commercial aircraft, preferably Airbus types, and at least 4 years in a base/line maintenance environment.
• Current CAR 66 CAT A1 maintenance licence.
• Solid basic understanding of aircraft maintenance theory and practice.
• Good English for technical communication and ability to use Microsoft Office.
• Ability to obtain a UAE driver's licence.
