Sheet Metal Certifying Technician

About the role

Air Arabia is recruiting a Sheet Metal Certifying Technician for its engineering recruitment event in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in mid-November 2026. The role performs, oversees and certifies structural maintenance on Airline and third-party aircraft undergoing line or base maintenance, including repairs, modifications, installations, inspections and defect rectification, while supervising assigned technicians and ensuring airworthiness and compliance with approved standards and regulations.

Candidates must be available to attend the invitation-only event in Addis Ababa; full event details are shared only with shortlisted candidates. Those not able to attend should apply separately to other Air Arabia vacancies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare for, perform and certify scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks according to task cards, approved data and regulatory standards.
• Oversee assigned technicians, resolve technical issues and give on-the-job guidance.
• Review task cards with the Engineer or Supervisor to confirm scope, documentation, priorities and safety precautions.
• Inspect and rectify defects using approved maintenance data.
• Record maintenance actions, test results, defect rectification and parts usage in the Maintenance Information system.
• Ensure shop inventory is available and compatible with approved standards and operational needs.
• Maintain clear communication with engineers, technicians and operational teams, and enforce safety regulations and human factors principles.
• Keep a clean, organized work environment, control resource use and support operational teams proactively.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (structural/airframe) or equivalent technical discipline.
• 4 years' experience maintaining aircraft structures and structural parts, preferably Airbus type.
• Company-issued Certifying Authorization for aircraft structure, or related training with demonstrated skills proficiency.
• Physically fit, able to work in confined spaces and outdoors, and able to work rostered shifts.
