Chief Field Office (NO-4) – Fixed‑Term – Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

About the role

The Chief Field Office (CFO) is a senior, fixed‑term position within UNICEF Ethiopia, reporting to the Chief Field Operations. Based in Addis Ababa, the CFO leads a field office, representing UNICEF in the assigned area, and ensures the delivery of high‑quality programme results in line with UNICEF’s country programme plan.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and lead the overall programme commitment of the assigned field office.
• Represent UNICEF in the Area of Responsibility and coordinate with programme sectors and operational service teams.
• Oversee warehouse and inventory management, including storage, inventory control, and distribution of supplies.
• Ensure compliance with UNICEF’s programme of cooperation and the country programme management plan.
• Provide technical and operational support to field staff to achieve programme objectives.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional (NO‑4) with extensive experience in programme management and field operations.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex logistics.
• Strong understanding of UNICEF’s mandate and child‑rights based approach.
• Willingness to work in a challenging environment and travel within Ethiopia as required.
