Economic Security Generalist 2 - Tigray

About the role

The ICRC Economic Security Generalist 2 is responsible for implementing and monitoring the ICRC Economic Security (EcoSec) programmes and resources in the Tigray region, under the close supervision of the EcoSec delegate. The postholder analyses the economic security situation of the affected population in the Mekelle Area of Responsibility (AoR) and designs EcoSec interventions in consultation with the Mekelle Sub-delegation, field management, the technical supervisor and the EcoSec team.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse the economic security situation and conduct needs assessments using the standard EcoSec approach, including livelihoods, agriculture and markets, and decide between cash and in-kind aid
• Design and plan EcoSec interventions, including beneficiary registration, and supervise beneficiary selection
• Implement and monitor activities against the plan of action, budget and timeframe, and help organise logistics and distribution teams
• Support the EcoSec Delegate in meetings with interlocutors and take part in annual planning
• Monitor interventions regularly, coach volunteer teams and take part in project reviews and evaluations
• Report on progress, write field reports and compile monthly statistical reports
• Handle administrative tasks such as working advances, payments to workers and volunteers, and keep project files up to date
• Translate accurately between English and Tigrinya and handle information with confidentiality
