English Teacher (Boarding School)

About the role

The Pharo School in Homosha, Ethiopia is seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join its on‑site team. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality English instruction to secondary‑level students in a boarding‑school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, plan and deliver engaging English lessons for secondary students.
• Adapt teaching materials to meet diverse learner needs, including EAL/ESL students.
• Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain a supportive classroom atmosphere.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and participate in academic meetings.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of teaching methodologies and learning resources.
• Engage in CPD opportunities and help cultivate an English‑speaking culture across the campus.
• Design and lead extracurricular activities related to English language and literature.

Required profile

• B.Ed. or Bachelor’s degree with PGDT/PGDE (or equivalent).
• Minimum three years of experience teaching English at secondary school level.
• Experience with English Language Arts, EAL/ESL students, or teaching English literature is an advantage.
• Creative, enthusiastic approach to teaching, including drama, poetry and other activities.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills for interaction with students, parents and staff.
• Team player willing to integrate into boarding‑school life.

Required skills

• Proficient use of IT tools for lesson preparation and delivery.
