Field Project Associate – DRU Flow Monitoring

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Field Project Associate to support the Data and Research Unit in Ethiopia. The role focuses on monitoring displacement flows, overseeing data collection activities, and ensuring high‑quality information for migration‑related projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, verifying data quality and applying corrective measures.
• Develop work plans and activity schedules for data collection, processing and analysis in coordination with the DRU team.
• Compile, summarize, analyse and present data on displacement and mobility trends.
• Draft status reports, correspondence, briefing notes, graphics and statistical tables for internal and external stakeholders.
• Facilitate communication with government focal points, partners, UN agencies and donors to ensure smooth operations.
• Organise meetings, workshops and training sessions; maintain project files and records.
• Monitor implementing partners’ performance and report non‑compliance to supervisors.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in field data collection, monitoring or research projects, preferably in migration or humanitarian contexts.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government officials, NGOs and UN agencies.
• Flexibility to travel within Ethiopia and work in field environments.
