Financial Grants Manager, ImpactHDSS Ethiopia

About the role

Vital Strategies, an international public health organization, is hiring a Financial Grants Manager for its ImpactHDSS, Ethiopia project, a three-year grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The role covers the contractual, financial, budgeting and reporting of the grant award and works closely with the program team, the Finance Division, subgrantees and vendors. Key responsibilities

• Prepare donor financial reports and narratives, budget submissions and authorizations, and respond to requests for financial information and audits.
• Ensure the accuracy, quality and timeliness of financial transactions charged to the grant, and approve disbursements and reconcile funds transferred to subgrantees.
• Review and approve invoices and staff/consultant payment requests before submission to the Finance Officer, and act as the main contact for subgrantees and vendors.
• Create monthly cash flow reports, develop fiscal year and reforecast expense budgets, and update Power BI budget dashboards with the Business Intelligence Analyst.
• Review and approve requisition forms and agreement financial clauses, assist in negotiating vendor agreements, and orient vendors on payment and reporting terms.
• Review contractor fee revision requests and reconcile subgrantee financial reports, conducting risk assessments of subgrantees where required.
• Keep program staff informed on donor and organizational regulations and policies, and assist the Senior Grants Manager and Director of Grant Management and Administration with compliance and standard operating procedures.
