General Manager – Ethiopia

About the role

Bitdeer Technologies Group is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead its expansion in Ethiopia. The role involves establishing and managing data‑center operations, building government relationships, and driving business growth in a strategic African market.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute medium‑ and long‑term strategic plans to achieve operational excellence and market share.
• Lead market entry, client acquisition, and partnership development with cloud providers, enterprises, and government bodies.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of data‑center projects—from feasibility and design to construction, commissioning, and ongoing operations.
• Manage the annual budget, forecast costs, and ensure financial health of the Ethiopian operations.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing local management team and foster a strong corporate culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field; MBA or equivalent strongly preferred.
• 8‑10 years of management experience in data‑center, cloud computing or IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years in senior roles.
• Proven track record in emerging markets, especially Africa, and strong government relations.
• Experience managing capital‑intensive projects with solid ROI focus.
