Head of Nonprofit Development

About the role

Awash Bank S.C., the leading private commercial bank in Ethiopia, is hiring a Head of Nonprofit Development for a full-time, on-site position in Addis Ababa. The role designs and leads nonprofit fundraising and partnership strategies aligned with the bank's social impact and corporate social responsibility priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual giving programs
• Cultivate and steward relationships with nonprofit partners and donors
• Coordinate outreach initiatives supporting financial inclusion and community development
• Oversee monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks to assess program effectiveness
• Prepare analytical reports and presentations for senior management
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate nonprofit initiatives into broader banking and CSR strategies
• Represent the bank at sector events and maintain compliance with relevant regulations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Development Studies, Public Administration or a related field; a postgraduate degree is an advantage
• Proven leadership experience, including team management, cross-functional collaboration and project oversight
• Experience in nonprofit management, CSR or development work in financial or social sectors is highly beneficial
• Strong understanding of the Ethiopian nonprofit landscape and regulatory environment

Required skills

• Expertise in annual giving, including designing and managing fundraising campaigns and donor engagement plans
• Solid stewardship capabilities with nonprofit partners, donors and community stakeholders
• M&E experience: developing indicators, tracking outcomes and reporting impact
• Analytical skills and strong written and verbal communication, including stakeholder engagement and presentation
