HSE Coordinator

About the role

The HSE Coordinator will support the EHS Manager in implementing and monitoring the Environmental, Health & Safety Management System on the shop floor, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing, implementing and monitoring EHS policies, procedures and ISO management systems.
• Conduct regular inspections, audits and behavioral safety observations, reporting findings and corrective actions.
• Provide EHS coaching, training and guidance to plant teams and coordinate the EHS committee.
• Maintain EHS communication tools, emergency systems readiness and waste management practices.
• Support incident reporting, risk assessments, accident investigations and emergency preparedness.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of EHS experience, preferably in food & beverage manufacturing.
• Bachelor of Science or Engineering preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and people‑management skills.
• Fluent in English and Amharic with good computer literacy.

Required skills

• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent.
• Knowledge of local and international EHS regulations and ISO standards.
• Experience with risk management, audit processes and permit‑to‑work systems.
• Ability to develop and deliver EHS training programmes.
