IT Specialist – Program & Technical Support for SunGold Project

About the role

RTI International is seeking an IT Specialist to provide program and technical support for the Food for Progress SunGold Project in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The role will ensure reliable IT services for the project team across the central and regional offices and support the digitization of the sunflower value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day technical support, including laptop/workstation setup, troubleshooting, and server/network assistance.
• Support staff onboarding, manage data security, confidentiality, and access rights.
• Maintain and repair office IT infrastructure (Windows PCs, macOS, Windows Servers, routers, switches, PBX).
• Set up and support IT equipment for new office locations and regional sites.
• Apply software updates, patching, anti‑virus protection, and backup procedures in line with RTI policies.
• Assist the program team with the monitoring & evaluation system, database management, and data collection.
• Collaborate with SunGold’s digital service partner on digitization and digitalization initiatives for the sunflower value chain.

Required profile

• Experience delivering IT support in an international or development setting.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple offices.

Required skills

• Windows operating system administration.
• macOS usage and support.
• Windows Server management.
• Networking hardware (routers, switches, PBX).
• Hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Software patching, anti‑virus, and backup administration.
• Database and M&E system support.
• Familiarity with digitalization tools and platforms.
