Lead UX/UI Designer

About the role

Expanse is looking for a Lead UX/UI Designer to own the end‑to‑end design of its core AI‑powered product. You will guide a growing design team, shape the user experience, and work closely with product and engineering to turn ideas into polished interfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full design lifecycle from research and ideation to high‑fidelity prototypes and final delivery.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align design with product strategy and technical feasibility.
• Maintain and evolve a scalable design system to ensure consistency across the platform.
• Conduct user research, create flows, wireframes, and prototypes that address user needs and business goals.
• Mentor junior designers and champion design thinking throughout the organization.

Required profile

• 7+ years of digital product design experience, including at least 3 years leading design teams.
• Strong interest in AI, large language models, and prompt engineering.
• Proven track record of shipping products with excellent design (portfolio required).
• Deep understanding of interaction design, information architecture, and accessibility.
• Excellent communication and storytelling abilities.

Required skills

• Mastery of Figma for UI design and prototyping.
• Experience building and scaling design systems.
