Logistics Assistant

About the role

The Logistics Assistant supports the delegation's logistics team in Mekele, handling purchasing, warehousing, supply chain management and statistical reporting in line with ICRC standards.

Key responsibilities

• Meet with internal customers for collaborative demand planning and forecasting.
• Manage order processing, inventory levels, stock counts and transport coordination.
• Maintain logistics data in the JDE application and produce statistical reports.
• Oversee warehousing, fleet operations and ensure compliance with import‑export formalities.
• Supervise and train warehouse and fleet staff, ensuring proper filing of confidential documents.

Required profile

• Diploma or BA degree in logistics, supply chain management or related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in logistics or a similar role; INGO experience is an asset.
• Very good command of English and Tigrigna, both spoken and written.
• Computer literacy is mandatory; a 3rd‑grade driving licence is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with JDE (or similar logistics information systems).
• Strong computer literacy for data entry, analysis and reporting.
