Logistics Coordinator - Green Coffee Export

About the role

Volcafe, a leading international green coffee trading company and part of ED&F Man Commodities, is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join its team in Addis Ababa. The role coordinates, monitors and reports on the timely execution of export logistics across exporters, logistics providers and destinations, supporting efficient contract execution through proactive follow-up on shipment timelines, export documentation, cargo readiness and operational updates. The coordinator reports to the General Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure immediate registration of purchase contracts by exporters
• Maintain daily communication between exporter execution teams and destination offices
• Keep accurate records of all open contracts and share regular status reports
• Follow up on shipment timelines and escalate bottlenecks, delays or documentation gaps
• Work closely with shipping lines to optimise booking schedules
• Keep shipment trackers and contract status reports up to date and inform traders, operations teams and destination offices
• Build working relationships with exporters, logistics providers, shipping lines and internal stakeholders
• Support operational reporting, execution analysis and continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and export documentation requirements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, IT, Business Administration, International Trade or a related field
• 1-3 years of experience in export logistics, execution, supply chain coordination or agri-commodity operations, preferably in coffee or agricultural exports in Ethiopia
• Experience with coffee or other ag export products in Ethiopia
• Excellent oral and written communication in Amharic and English
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and to manage shipment timelines and escalate issues

• Background in data management highly desirable
• Advanced computing skills and task automation considered a plus
