Monitoring & Evaluation Resource Person

About the role

Nexus 4 Empowerment and Development (N4ED) is looking for an experienced Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Resource Person in Addis Ababa to design, coordinate and run baseline, midline and endline assessments for its project on nutrition, early childhood development and women's empowerment. The assignment is full-time, fixed-term and lasts 8 months split into three phases (baseline, midline and endline) with gaps between them, reporting to the Program Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Design the master evaluation framework, select key indicators, map verification methods and set up the survey schedule over the 3-year project period.
• Design questionnaires and data collection templates, translated into Amharic where needed.
• Recruit and train data collectors, and design FGDs and home-to-home audit tools.
• Clean, process and analyze data for the baseline, then compare midline and endline results to the baseline and produce assessment reports.
• Support the Program Manager with briefing materials and presentations, and document lessons learned.
• Build staff capacity on performance monitoring, data management tools and data quality assurance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Statistics, Economics, Public Health, Nutrition, Development Studies or a related social science field.
• At least 3 to 5 years of monitoring and evaluation experience, preferably in public health projects.
• Demonstrated experience evaluating projects on nutrition, ECD or women's economic empowerment.
• Fluent English and Amharic.

Required skills

• Strong data analysis software proficiency (e.g. SPSS, STATA, Kobo Toolbox).
• Knowledge of M&E methodologies and tools.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
