Packaging Operator

About the role

The Packaging Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining packaging equipment to ensure efficient production of FMCG goods. You will work on a shift basis, following the production plan and contributing to a safe, high‑quality work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate manual and automatic packaging machines according to standards.
• Interpret and implement the shift production plan.
• Monitor process quality and productivity, taking corrective action when needed.
• Perform administrative tasks such as tracking process performance and reporting.
• Manage PIMS and POMS systems, addressing negative trends.
• Use OFR triggers as required and contribute to AB reports.
• Maintain a safe and healthy workplace at all times.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a packaging hall, preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Strong work ethic with a track record of quality‑focused performance.
• Good understanding of health, safety and labour legislation.
• Minimum education: Grade 12, post‑matric (e.g., N4) or National Diploma; IOB Certificate is an advantage.
• Completed at least 9 months of on‑the‑job training and SKAP within 12 months.
