Packaging Process Operator

About the role
The key purpose of this role is to operate and maintain the packaging process so that equipment effectiveness is maximised. The position sits within the SAB/ABInBev group (band XISAB/AB) and involves hands-on machine operation, maintenance and support of the production team.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out machine start-up, shut-down and running operations
- Perform brand pack changes
- Carry out autonomous maintenance
- Check regularly that the setup and operation are correct
- Monitor process performance
- Support the development, training and coaching of operational teams
- Assist in problem-solving for the specific process area
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities that improve process capability
- Coach and assess staff as required
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment
Required profile
- Matric qualification
- Ability to work shifts
- Summatively assessed on at least two machines
- 3 years' experience in a packaging process environment
- Active team player with vigilance and quickness to action
- Proven track record of performance
Required skills
- Problem-solving ability
- Manual dexterity
