Program Officer

About the role

The Program Officer will be embedded in the MSH Ethiopia country team to strengthen day‑to‑day project management for multiple concurrent programs, ensuring milestones are met and donor requirements are satisfied.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate project milestone plans, track deadlines and dependencies, and assemble supporting documentation for milestone reviews and payment requests.
• Work closely with technical, finance, operations, MEL and headquarters teams to follow up on actions, identify risks, delays or documentation gaps, and maintain project management tools and reporting calendars.
• Organize and support meetings, workshops, trainings and field visits, preparing agendas, materials and follow‑up actions.
• Collect, review and consolidate inputs from staff, partners and stakeholders for reports, workplans and presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in project management, public administration, international development, public health or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably in donor‑funded health or development programs.
• Strong analytical, writing and presentation abilities with attention to detail and deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with SharePoint, Smartsheet or similar collaboration and tracking tools.
• Ability to interpret award requirements, coordinate cross‑functional inputs and manage documentation.
