Project Accountant

About the role

The Project Accountant will work full‑time on‑site in Shakiso, managing the financial side of assigned projects. You will ensure budgets are accurate, costs are tracked, and financial reporting meets company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review project budgets and track costs against them.
• Record transactions, reconcile project‑related accounts, and generate regular financial reports.
• Analyze variances between budgeted and actual expenses and advise project managers on improvements.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards.
• Collaborate with operations, procurement and management teams to support forecasting, cash‑flow planning and timely project completion.

Required profile

• Strong financial and project accounting skills, including budgeting, cost tracking and variance analysis.
• Experience in financial reporting, statement preparation, reconciliations and audit‑ready documentation.
• Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets, plus general IT literacy.
• Analytical, problem‑solving, organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA, ACCA or similar certifications are a plus.
• Prior experience in project‑based environments such as construction or trading is beneficial.
• Commitment to ethical practices, accuracy and attention to detail.
