Protection Officer – GBV & Protection Case Management Supervisor

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a Protection Officer to supervise GBV and general protection case management across its Mai‑Tsebri, Adi‑grat and Sherero field offices in Ethiopia. Reporting to the Protection Team Leader, you will ensure high‑quality, survivor‑centred services while building the capacity of caseworkers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Protection Assistant‑GBV and Protection Assistant‑PCM caseworkers, ensuring compliance with international GBV and protection case management standards.
• Supervise weekly individual case reviews and facilitate bi‑weekly team meetings to monitor case progress and address challenges.
• Implement protection case management activities in line with DRC SOPs and monitoring guidelines.
• Support caseworkers throughout case identification, assessment, planning, intervention and follow‑up.
• Promote staff well‑being through regular debriefings and reflective practices.
• Develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies, local authorities and governance structures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in protection and GBV case management within humanitarian contexts.
• Ability to supervise and build technical capacity of multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of international protection standards, GBV guidelines and survivor‑centred approaches.
• Excellent coordination skills with NGOs, local authorities and other stakeholders.
