Recovery Officer (Jigjiga)

About the role

The Recovery Officer will be responsible for monitoring and recovering defaulted loans for Inkomoko in Jigjiga. This role involves field visits, coordination with local authorities, and proactive communication with borrowers to ensure timely repayments and mitigate credit risk.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the credit portfolio, identify repayment irregularities, and recommend recovery actions.
• Prepare monthly portfolio reports and weekly turnover updates for management.
• Conduct site visits and post‑disbursement spot checks to verify loan utilization and performance.
• Contact borrowers via calls and visits to remind them of repayment schedules and resolve issues.
• Block accounts of overdue clients and coordinate with finance to settle overdue amounts.
• Maintain trigger reporting systems for credit impairments and propose corrective measures.
• Support loan officers, managers, and compliance officers on non‑performing loans.
• Ensure compliance with Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) regulations and maintain required PAR levels.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with ability to assess credit risk.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills for interacting with borrowers and authorities.
• Detail‑oriented and capable of preparing accurate reports.
• Ability to work independently in the field and manage multiple cases.
