Sales and Support Engineer - HVAC

About the role

A leading HVAC solutions provider, represented by Stratostaff East Africa, is looking for a Sales and Support Engineer in Addis Ababa. The role reports to the Country Manager / Sales Manager and covers HVAC sales growth, business development, technical support, project follow-up and customer relationship management. The ideal candidate is a technically strong HVAC professional with proven experience in VRF and commercial HVAC solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and sell RLC VRF systems, BSS commercial products and other HVAC solutions across Ethiopia, and build relationships with consultants, contractors, developers, government entities and end-users.
• Prepare and present technical and commercial proposals, and maintain an updated sales pipeline and project tracking system.
• Review project drawings, specifications, BOQs and tender documents, and prepare equipment selections, technical submittals, compliance statements and product presentations.
• Provide pre-sales technical support, coordinate with factories and product teams, and give technical presentations and product training.
• Follow up on project approvals, consultant submissions and order conversions, and coordinate with supply chain, operations and service teams.
• Support installation, commissioning and handover, monitor project milestones and report regularly to management.
• Act as the primary technical and commercial contact for assigned customers and handle after-sales support.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 6-8 years of HVAC sales and technical support experience.
• Proven experience with RLC VRF systems, BSS commercial products and commercial/applied HVAC solutions.
• Experience in project sales, consultant engagement and contractor management.
• Experience with large commercial, hospitality, healthcare, industrial and mixed-use projects; East Africa or Ethiopia market experience is an added advantage.
• Willingness to travel extensively within Ethiopia.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of VRF systems and commercial HVAC applications, including AHUs, FCUs, ventilation systems, packaged units and split/ducted systems.
• Understanding of HVAC design principles, load calculations and equipment selection, and ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with CRM and ERP systems.
