Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will join Pana DM Trading PLC’s finance team in Addis Ababa, overseeing the full spectrum of accounting activities for a diversified manufacturing and trading group. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance, and insightful analysis to support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage general ledger operations, prepare and review journal entries, and reconcile accounts.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing processes, producing accurate financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor budgets, analyze variances, and support cash‑flow management.
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws, prepare and review tax filings, and coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Drive finance process improvements and mentor junior accounting staff.
• Collaborate with operations and senior management to deliver financial insights for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in general accounting, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.
• Experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and cash‑flow management.
• Knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations, audit preparation, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency with accounting software, ERP systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
• Several years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or diversified business groups.
• High integrity, ethical conduct, and a proactive ownership mindset.
