Senior Accountant

About the role

Eney Investment PLC, an investment company based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, is hiring a full-time, on-site Senior Accountant. The role oversees day-to-day accounting operations and ensures accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic decisions and good corporate governance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries and manage general ledger accounts
• Reconcile bank and intercompany statements
• Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual closing, and prepare financial statements
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow monitoring
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and accounting standards
• Coordinate with auditors and improve internal controls and accounting processes
• Provide financial analysis and insights to management and other departments

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional certification such as ACCA or CPA is preferred
• Several years of progressive accounting experience, including in a senior or supervisory capacity
• Solid understanding of Ethiopian tax regulations and local accounting standards; experience with external auditors is an advantage
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills, with attention to detail
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• High level of integrity and confidentiality regarding financial information
