Woreda Facilitator – Community Development (Ethiopia)

About the role

The Woreda Facilitator will provide technical and organisational support for the Realizing Aspiration of Youth in Ethiopia through Employment (RAYEE II) programme at the woreda and kebele level. Working in West Gojjam (Finote Selam, Burie and Jabi woredas), the role ensures effective implementation of youth‑employment activities, promotes gender equity and social inclusion, and links community stakeholders with SNV and partner NGOs.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate and coordinate RAYEE II activities with local authorities, community groups and partner organisations.
• Support the planning, monitoring and reporting of project interventions in horticulture, poultry, dairy and related value chains.
• Collect, verify and analyse data on programme performance and gender‑equity outcomes.
• Identify and address barriers to youth employment, ensuring alignment with the programme’s market‑system approach.
• Provide capacity‑building support to kebele officials and community representatives.
• Ensure safeguarding and compliance with GESI standards throughout implementation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in community development or agricultural project facilitation.
• Strong knowledge of rural Ethiopian contexts and local languages (Amharic, Afaan Oromo).
• Experience working with NGOs or development programmes focused on youth employment and gender equity.
• Ability to travel regularly within the assigned woredas and work in field settings.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
