Woreda Facilitator - Youth Employment Program

About the role

SNV Ethiopia is recruiting an experienced Woreda Facilitator for the Realizing Aspiration of Youth in Ethiopia through Employment (RAYEE II) program in Merab Abaya Woreda, Gamo Zone, South Ethiopia. The role provides technical and organizational support to program implementation at woreda and kebele level, facilitates community and partnership work, and works closely with cluster advisors and the zonal coordinator.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure program targeting of young women (90%) and disadvantaged groups (5% with disabilities, 5% others such as returnees and internally displaced persons) is followed, working with One Stop Service Centres and task forces to identify unemployed youth and collect unemployment data.
• Create awareness about program objectives and business and employment opportunities, and organize awareness sessions for young women and unemployed youth.
• Facilitate the formation of Young Women Led Savings and Loan Associations (YSLAs) and establish and capacitate Youth Advisory Groups.
• Support the establishment of young women-led micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in agribusiness value chains (poultry, dairy, horticulture), ensuring soft and technical training, GESI and safeguarding integration, and business plans.
• Organize peer-to-peer coaching, demonstration and hands-on training, and link MSEs with local financial institutions for loans, premises and legal services.
• Monitor field implementation, collect and compile MSE data according to the program's tracking system, and prepare annual, quarterly and monthly plans and progress reports.
• Document the program database, write learning briefs and impact stories, and take other tasks that help the team achieve its results.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Marketing, Agriculture or a related field.
